Oct. 30/00 Diamond Aircraft Proudly Announces Two Important Certification Milestones Diamond Star JAA Certification The Diamond Star has become the first General Aviation light aircraft to achieve certification under the multinational JAA certification process. Diamond had submitted over a thousand certification reports to the European certification authorities. The Company, which is the largest manufacturer of light composite aircraft in the world, received the notification of the certification on October 25 2000. Under the existing bilateral airworthiness agreements between the JAA and the FAA, Diamond benefits by a fast track process for FAA certification in the United States. Because of the successful effort to certify the Diamond Star under the multinational agreement, Diamond Aircraft is on track for its original target date for FAA IFR certification by March 31 2001. Diamond Aircraft is in production of the Diamond Star and expects to deliver the first one hundred of the new four place aircraft in calendar year 2001. The company has been pleased by the performance of the new aircraft in recent trials in the United States. The aircraft has been out-performing other four place aircraft carrying much higher prices than the Diamond Star's basic IFR price of $185,000.00 USD. The Diamond Star may be purchased from one of the newly appointed Diamond Regional Distribution Centers on the North American Continent. The aircraft comes with a two-year tip to tail factory warranty. Diamond Aircraft design capabilities recognized by regulatory authorities. Diamond designated as "Design Organization" approved under JAR-21 Diamond Aircraft has been approved by JAA as one of only two light aircraft manufacturers in Europe holding the designation of an aircraft "Design Organization". Because of the latitude granted to sanctioned Design Organizations, future Diamond Aircraft certifications will be completed from concept to certification with less delay. The Diamond Star took only two and one half years from concept paper to JAA certification. With the new designation, Diamond Aircraft's exciting new and expanding line of aircraft will come to market even more expeditiously than in the past. The new designation demonstrates the respect and confidence the European Joint Aviation Authority has in Diamond Aircraft's engineering department. This is a designation, which sets Diamond Aircraft apart from its competition. |
