Jul. 23/02 The Aviation & Space Technology Academy at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has selected the DA40-180 Diamond Star for their First Officer Flight Training Program The Aviation & Space Technology Academy at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has ordered ten new DA40-180 DiamondStars for use in their new First Officer Flight Training Program. The elite program prepares students for positions as First Officers with domestic regional airlines. Interested candidates must pass a rigorous screening process for entry into the program, then accumulate 550 hours of total flight experience and advanced jet simulator flight time. Diamond Aircraft will deliver ten of their IFR four-place DiamondStars to the academy in early 2003. The acquisition is part of a comprehensive partnership agreement that addresses aircraft acquisitions, development and application of advanced technologies, composite technology maintenance training, and other cooperative programs. The agreement also names ERAU as the North American launch customer for Diamond Aircraft's new DA42 TwinStar.
